Job Title: Mechanical Estimator Location: South East London Salary: £60,000–£65,000 Industry: Construction About the role Join our clients dynamic M&E team as a Mechanical Estimator. They are a leading mechanical, electrical, and engineering specialist in South East London, and due to continued success, They are growing their estimating department. This is an exciting opportunity to bring your expertise to a friendly and supportive team, pricing a diverse range of mechanical projects. Key Responsibilities: Tender document review and analysis including raising of RFI’s with the client Supply chain correspondence and enquiries Take-off as required conforming to standard estimating conventions Vetting incoming tenders/offers from our supply chain and ensuring that the most viable offer is included within our submission Preparing tenders for internal adjudications Attendance of tender adjudication meetings to present costing approach, project duration, and risks to the business Timely submission of tenders Attendance in handover of projects to the operations team Requirements: A team mentality Excellent communication and organisational skills High use of initiative Skills and Behaviours: Commercially astute, able to identify and manage risk and to anticipate issues that may affect costs and address them proactively An eye for detail, and proven ability to work to tight deadlines on simultaneous projects Proactive and persuasive with the skills to assess better systems of work in order to advise and assist clients on systems that will save time and money Experience and Qualifications Preferably qualified by apprenticeship or to C & G/ONC level Proven experience in a similar position with an M&E contractor or in the M&E division of a main contractor Proven ability to estimate costs and timescales accurately in order to meet deadlines Benefits: Competitive salary and overtime options 25 days Annual leave + Bank holidays Good Exposure to clients and projects Ongoing training and development Supportive team and onboarding If you are interested in applying for this position and would like to learn more, send your CV in confidence to the team here at YCR, and we will be in touch shortly.
