Retrofit Designer – Domestic Projects Location: Bristol (Hybrid – 2–3 Days in Office) Salary: Competitive + Car Allowance + Bonus + Benefits Overview: A progressive and multi-disciplinary built environment consultancy is seeking an experienced Retrofit Designer to join its Retrofit Team in Bristol. This is an exciting opportunity to work on large-scale social housing retrofit programmes, helping to drive energy efficiency and sustainability across the South West. You’ll be responsible for developing PAS2035:2023-compliant designs that are practical, technically robust, and deliver real performance improvements for residents and communities. Key Responsibilities: * Design end-to-end retrofit solutions in accordance with PAS2035:2023 and client objectives * Analyse Retrofit Assessment data (IOEs, Condition Reports, ventilation appraisals) to guide design decisions * Produce high-quality documentation including drawings, specifications, ventilation strategies, sequencing plans, and risk assessments * Conduct U-value calculations, condensation risk analysis, and assess thermal bridging risks * Work closely with Retrofit Coordinators to finalise deliverable Medium-Term Plans * Consider heritage, moisture, and site constraints to ensure safe, effective designs * Support project delivery with site inspections, toolbox talks, and design reviews * Keep up to date with DESNZ guidance and evolving retrofit best practice What You’ll Need: * Architect (ARB or MCIAT accredited) or equivalent qualified building design professional * Demonstrated experience in domestic retrofit projects under PAS2035 * Strong technical knowledge of insulation, ventilation, and moisture management * Proficient in CAD/Revit, Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), and collaborative tools such as AirTable * Strong communication and reporting skills * Full UK driving licence (occasional site travel required) * Based in Bristol, with hybrid working (2–3 days per week in the office) What’s on Offer: * 25+ days annual leave with buy/sell/carry options * Private medical insurance and GP access * Pension, income protection, and life assurance * Volunteering days and mental health support * Structured training and professional development pathway * Car allowance and performance-related bonus Apply now to become part of a growing Bristol-based team committed to designing sustainable, people-focused solutions for the UK housing sector
