Shunter Driver

Our client is a well-established and successful manufacturer. They are looking for a Shunter Driver to join them.

NOTE - There are both full time (4 on 4 off) and part time (e.g. 2 days a week) vacancies available.

Available shift patterns and salaries:

• 4 on 4 off, days and nights rotating GBP14.75 per hour, overtime GBP18.43 (x1.25)
• 4 on 4 off days only GBP13.83, overtime GBP17.28 (x1.25)
• 4 on 4 off nights only GBP14.83, overtime GBP18.53 (x1.25)

If part time, 2 or 3 days a week would be considered (12 hour shifts, days or nights or both).

APPLICANT REQUIREMENTS:

• Previous experience as a Shunter Driver / HGV Driver.
• Shunter license or HGV license is desirable, but not essential. As long as you have previous Shunter / HGV driving experience you will be considered.
• A Forklift licence will be an advantage, but not essential.
• Due to the location your own transport is essential.

Responsibilities:

• The role involves safely moving trailers or tankers around site areas such as loading bays and in the yard, unloading/tipping of bulk trailers & tankers.

• You will use Shunter vehicles to position units efficiently and support operations, reversing into tight spaces.
• The role includes the coupling and uncoupling of trailers, performing vehicle checks, and following strict site safety procedures.

• Cleaning inside of trailers once emptied using a pressure washer.
• Movement of full & empty curtain sider trailers.
• Keeping work area clean.
