Location: Basingstoke

Salary Scale: GBP82.80 to GBP100 per day

Start Date: ASAP/ September

In this role, you ll be supporting pupils with a variety of special educational needs, providing both 1:1 support and small group/classroom assistance. You will play a vital role in helping children thrive, develop confidence, and achieve their potential.

Flexible Roles for University Students Basingstoke (September 2025)

Responsibilities:

  • To support students who struggle with their class work
  • Facilitate a fun and friendly learning environment
  • To provide support to the class teacher
  • To keep the classroom a tidy and presentable environment
  • Help manage classroom behaviour

What we are looking for:

  • Graduates or current university students with a desire to explore a career in education
  • Core subject degrees such as Maths, English, Science, History, Geography, or PE (for aspiring teachers)
  • Experience working with SEN (in school, care, or voluntary settings) preferred, not essential
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and communicate effectively with parents and other professionals.
  • A patient and nurturing approach to working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and be flexible in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in SEN practices and strategies.


To work with GSL Education in these Flexible Teaching Roles , you should:

  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
  • Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education
