Pay: GBP90 GBP110 per day (Depending on experience)

As a SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA) , you will be a vital part of a team that helps students overcome barriers and thrive. Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and families, you will help create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment where every student can succeed.

About the School: This is a welcoming and well-resourced specialist setting for secondary-aged pupils who follow a primary-style curriculum. The school supports students with a range of needs including Autism, ADHD, behavioural challenges, and learning difficulties. Class sizes are small, typically around 12 to 13 pupils, allowing for more tailored and supportive teaching.
It s a bit like teaching primary children in secondary-sized bodies full of energy, personality and potential.

What You ll Be Doing as SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for students with SEND.
• Adapt learning materials and activities to suit individual needs.
• Collaborate with teaching staff and parents to ensure consistent support.
• Encourage independence and confidence in students learning.
• Monitor and report on student progress and well-being.
• Foster a classroom environment where all students feel safe, valued, and included.
• Communicate effectively with staff, students, and families.
• Support students emotional and behavioural needs with empathy and patience.

What You Bring as SEND Teaching Assistant (SEND TA)

• Experience working with children with SEND in an educational setting.
• A patient, empathetic, and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexibility and adaptability to meet diverse student needs.
• Additional training in areas such as autism, speech and language, or behaviour management is desirable but not essential.
• Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years, barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
