Job Title: Account Handler – Automotive Department: Automotive Insurance Reports To: Account Service Manager / Team Lead Type: Full-Time | Location: Birmingham Area We are looking for candidates that have a strong (minimum 7 years) commercial experience and maybe some motor experience as you will be given the Motor Trade training, but if you have worked in Motor Trade before then this will be a bonus. Salary circa £32,000. About the Role As an Account Handler in our Automotive division, you’ll work closely with Account Executives to manage and develop a portfolio of commercial clients. You’ll provide technical insurance support, risk advice, and assist in securing appropriate cover to meet client needs—focusing on both Motor and Non-Motor commercial insurance products. Key Responsibilities * Support Account Executives in servicing and expanding client accounts * Liaise with clients to assess and review insurance requirements * Source quotes and bind cover for direct Motor Trade clients * Negotiate with insurers on new and existing policies * Prepare accurate documentation and instructions for accounts processing * Provide guidance on risk management and prevention * Contribute to high standards of service, compliance, and client satisfaction * Support with credit control where required Compliance & Conduct * Adhere to FCA conduct rules and maintain integrity, diligence, and transparency * Ensure compliance with data protection, health and safety, and all regulatory frameworks * Represent the company professionally and uphold its values and standards Success in the Role * Achieving KPIs and individual performance targets * Positive stakeholder and customer feedback * Consistent adherence to regulatory and company policies * Ongoing professional development and training completion What We’re Looking For Experience: * Minimum 2 years in Commercial and/or Motor Trade insurance * Proven experience using Acturis * Confident in a sales-driven environment Skills & Knowledge: * Strong knowledge of General Insurance classes and UK insurance market * Understanding of FCA compliance and underwriting principles * Ability to write clear reports and maintain insurance registers * Familiarity with IT systems and internal processes Interested?
