Highways Work Supervisor

A client within the Public Sector based in North Yorkshire is currently recruiting for a Supervisor to join their Highways & Construction team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highways environment.

The Role
Key purpose of the role is to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Seamer Carr or Whitby depots, ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of highways and construction projects, including reactive and planned maintenance schemes, as well as capital works programmes.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

• Leading and supporting a team of operatives, subcontractors, and depot staff
• Planning and coordinating materials, plant, and labour
• Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards
• Monitoring project progress, budgets, and performance
• Mentoring and developing the team to achieve success

The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require:

• Proven experience in highways or construction at Ganger level or above
• Knowledge of Traffic Management (TM1, TM2, T7)
• Understanding of health & safety legislation and quality assurance

The below skills would be beneficial for the role:

• SSSTS qualification
• Experience with NEC forms of Contract
• Good IT skills with Microsoft Office packages

The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering 26 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. 19 per hour PAYE).
