Financial Accountant
Location: Hybrid Office based at Chapman Way
Type: 12-Month Maternity Cover

Are you a detail-oriented finance professional with a strong grasp of core accounting processes and a passion for accuracy? We re looking for a Financial Accountant to join our busy and collaborative finance team. This role offers great exposure across Accounts Payable and Receivable, with involvement in financial reporting, reconciliations, and intercompany processes.

The Role:
As a Financial Accountant, you'll help support the smooth running of day-to-day finance operations, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and timely. You'll work closely with the wider team to produce insightful reporting and maintain financial control across key ledgers.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately post and analyse supplier invoices across the AP function
Understand the full purchasing cycle from invoice receipt to payment
Reconcile supplier statements and process weekly payment runs
Manage purchase and sales ledger queries
Draft and post month-end journals: prepayments, accruals, payroll, intercompany
Prepare monthly supporting schedules including P&L analysis (e.g., marketing, insurance, payroll)
Complete bank reconciliations and daily cash postings
Forecast short-term cash flow and ensure correct allocation of receipts/payments
Post intercompany recharges, including credit card and intercompany invoices
Perform accurate intercompany reconciliations aligned with Group balances
Investigate mis-postings and escalate discrepancies to the Head of Financial Accounting
Deputise for the Head of Financial Accounting when needed

About You:
You re organised, analytical, and proactive. You understand the importance of accurate financial reporting and enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. You're confident handling data, solving problems, and supporting process improvements.

Key Skills & Experience:
Part-qualified AAT, ACA, ACCA or CIMA
Strong understanding of chart of accounts (COA) and nominal analysis
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confidence using finance/ERP systems
Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
Strong verbal and written communication abilities
Comfortable liaising with stakeholders at all levels
