Teaching Assistant

About the Role: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a young pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This role involves: * Providing personalised academic and social support throughout the school day * Implementing tailored interventions and visual supports to meet individual learning goals * Building a trusting, respectful relationship to foster confidence and independence * Collaborating with teachers, SENCo, parents, and external professionals * Observing, recording, and contributing to review meetings and pupil progress planning * Modelling positive behaviour strategies and promoting peer inclusion * Adapting resources to support multi-sensory and flexible learning approaches About the School: We’re a vibrant primary school that: * Embraces diversity, inclusion, and positive approaches to additional needs * Supports pupils with SEND through strong pastoral care and specialist provision * Offers a broad, engaging curriculum using multi-sensory and active learning methods * Prioritises staff development – including ASD training and SEND CPD * Maintains close partnerships with families and external support networks * Focuses on building pupil confidence, independence, and enjoyment of learning * Values high standards of safeguarding and pastoral support If you’re passionate about making a real difference and have experience or enthusiasm for supporting children with ASD, we’d love to hear from you! Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training, or qualifications required for this position are recent school-based experience (within the last 5 years within a school that teaches the British Curriculum) and/or care-based experience within the last 5 years.
