Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking Creative Teaching Assistants to join our team of enthusiastic professionals working in primary schools across Ipswich . These roles are ideal for individuals who want to use their creativity to inspire, support, and engage children, particularly those with special educational needs (SEN).

About the Role

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in both 1:1 and group settings, supporting pupils and working collaboratively with teachers and other staff in creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating environment . Your creative talents will be used to enrich lessons and help pupils with varying needs to engage through sensory play, social development activities, and interactive learning .

Main Duties and Responsibilities

• Supporting classroom activities under the guidance of the teacher
• Engaging pupils through interactive and creative methods such as music, role-play, storytelling, movement, and arts-based tasks
• Helping pupils with sensory integration within the classroom
• Promoting the development of independence and life skills
• Supporting the assessment of pupil progress and needs
• Encouraging social skills and helping pupils understand and respond to social cues
• Supporting behaviour management in line with school policy
• Collaborating with other staff and professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each pupil
• Communicating effectively with teachers, therapists, and families
• Ensuring school safeguarding, behaviour, and learning policies are implemented effectively

What We're Looking For

• A creative background (e.g., acting, drama, music, dance, arts)
• Enthusiastic, proactive, and passionate about working with children
• Experience with SEN is beneficial but not essential
• Ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with children and staff
• Willingness to assist with personal care and support learning in all areas
• A calm, patient, and caring attitude
