Design Technology Teacher – Independent School near Wells – September 2025 Start Permanent, Full-Time Role Strong Emphasis on Innovation, Engineering, and 3D Design Opportunity for Additional Responsibility for Experienced Candidates A respected and academically strong independent school near Wells is seeking a Design Technology Teacher to join their growing and well-resourced DT department from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent post suitable for an experienced teacher or an enthusiastic ECT. The department is known for its emphasis on sustainable design, innovation, and hands-on making. The successful candidate will teach across KS3–KS5, with opportunities to support student projects involving CAD, product design, 3D printing, and materials science. Candidate Essentials * Relevant degree (Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering) * QTS and teaching experience across secondary age groups * Confident using CAD/CAM tools such as Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar * Practical knowledge of resistant materials, electronics, or textiles beneficial * Ability to support the school’s ethos of creativity and curiosity About the School * DT suites with laser cutters, CNC routers, 3D printers, and traditional tools * Students compete in Young Engineer of the Year and Arkwright Scholarships * Strong links with local industries and higher education design programmes * Supportive leadership team and investment in STEAM projects Salary Highly competitive + possible TLR + annual CPD budget + pension + relocation support
