Mould Tool Finisher / Manual Machinist

GBP15-18ph, salary is negotiable depending on experience

James Grace Technical are proudly working with an industry leading company specialising in tool making and design. Our client is dedicated to delivering high quality injection mould tools across the UK and Ireland. The right candidate will have experience with manual machines and preferably come from a toolmaking background although this is not essential.

• Flexible working system in place normal operating hours run 8am-5pm Monday-Thurs and Early finish on Friday.

Skills & Experience:

• A general understanding of how to safely use toolroom equipment and machinery.
• An excellent level of attention to detail is required in all areas of the job and the successful candidate must take a real pride in their finished work.
• Minimum of 5 years in a toolmaking company or similar industry considered.
• The position would require the candidate to be flexible in their working day and work on a variety of different projects as they come through.
• Forklift license desirable but not essential.
• Experience in interpreting engineering drawings both 2D and 3D is desirable.
• Can check their own work using Vernier callipers, gauge blocks, dial test indicators and micrometres

Key Responsibilities:

• Be able to work within a team of other engineers, suggest ideas and be open to feedback
• Manual grinding, Manual milling
• Fitting of inserts, shut off of tool halves
• Assembly/disassembly of mould tools
• Polishing/ finishing of tooling inserts
• Drilling cooling channels in mould plates
