Configuration Engineer

Our Engineering and Manufacturing client are currently seeking technically skilled Configuration Engineer to join their team close to Havant.

Responsibilities

This responsibilities of this role with include interpreting manufacturing drawings, Product Data Management and configuring business systems to support product configuration.

Duties:

• Review and interpret manufacturing drawings in flat pattern and 3D formats
• Navigate and manage data within PDM systems to ensure accurate and current product records.
• Configure business systems and workflows related to:

• Product configuration and rules logic
• Estimating templates
• Bill of Materials (BOMs)
• Work instructions and production documentation

• Utilise systems for automating SolidWorks designs
• Maintain documentation of configuration rules and workflows to ensure repeatability and traceability.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and operations teams to gather requirements and implement process improvements.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the optimisation of the configuration and manufacturing process.

Experience:

• Bachelor s degree or similar in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a configuration engineering, CAD administration, or technical documentation role.
• Programming or scripting experience, ideally DriveWorks or VBA, Python, SQL, C#.
• Proficient in MS excel and VBA.
• Experienced in SolidWorks or 3D modelling and understanding of flat pattern design.
