Technical Design Estimator

We’re hiring for a Technical Design Estimator to join a specialist manufacturing team in Hull, helping translate engineering drawings into practical, cost-effective solutions that support precision production. You’ll be a vital link between customer requirements and the workshop floor – estimating projects, costing components, and shaping how parts are manufactured. What’s on offer? * £35,000 - £45,000 per year (depending on experience) * Monday - Friday 7:30am – 4:30pm (early finish on Fridays) * 39-hour working week * Free onsite parking * Company pension scheme * Sick pay What will you be doing as a Technical Design Estimator? * Reading and interpreting CAD/engineering drawings to prepare component costings * Producing accurate quotations based on in-house manufacturing and subcontractor costs * Collaborating with suppliers to gather and negotiate subcontract prices * Preparing cost sheets and uploading materials/components into the ERP system * Working closely with other estimators and departments to deliver competitive solutions * Reviewing BOMs and process routes to support costing queries * Supporting with production readiness and potentially developing into machine programming (nesting and punching) What do you need? * Proven experience in an estimating, design, or production engineering role * A strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles * The ability to read and interpret technical/engineering drawings * Proficiency in Microsoft Office – experience with Amada software is a bonus Apply today or speak with Adam at KPJ Group for more information between 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.
