Polisher - Level 1

Full time work / Excellent rates of pay / Training provided / Opportunities to upskill.

As a Level 1 Polisher, your main job is to fix small defects on metal cast parts using tools and techniques provided. You'll follow standard procedures to make sure the finished parts meet customer requirements.

• Perform at least one polishing operation from a list that includes:

  • Basic and complex aerofoil polishing

  • Radius and edge polishing

  • Flash removal

  • Shroud and inter vane polishing

  • Use of small and large grinders

  • Deburring

  • Polishing large castings

• Use hand or power tools to smooth out surface defects while maintaining shape and size

• Select and replace grinding belts as needed

• Use measuring tools to check dimensions and make adjustments

• Plan your work to meet delivery deadlines and flag any issues to your supervisor

• Work closely with visual inspectors to meet strict quality standards

• Enter information into planning systems and booking tools

• Help train others and share your knowledge

• Follow all health, safety, and quality rules and procedures

• Support company-wide improvement efforts

• Perform other duties as needed

• Keep your work area clean and organized

• Follow all health & safety rules

• Use tools and materials correctly and safely

• Produce consistently high-quality work

• Experience with polishing tools and techniques

• Previous work in casting, automotive, or metal manufacturing

• Skilled with air tools and metallic materials

• Comfortable working under pressure

• Good communication and basic computer skills

Week 1.

• Mon - Thu 05:30 - 13:45
• Fri 05:30 - 11:45

Week 2.

• Mon - Thu 14:00 - 22:00
• Fri 12:00 - 19:05

Rate of pay:

• GBP13.59 Week 1
• GBP15.29 Week 2
