Machine Setter

Quick Staff UK is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing business in the Tredegar area. On their behalf, we are seeking to recruit a number of experienced Machine Setters to support shift operations within a plastics manufacturing environment. This is a hands-on role working with injection moulding machinery and requires a strong technical skill set and mechanical aptitude.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install and align moulds accurately; set machine parameters including pressure, temperature, and cycle times
• Run trial parts, verify output meets quality standards, and adjust settings as needed
• Identify and resolve mechanical faults and defects to reduce downtime
• Use measuring tools such as calipers and micrometers to inspect parts and record results
• Perform routine maintenance and keep machinery and work areas clean and safe
• Suggest ways to optimise machine performance and improve product quality
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a hazard-free workspace

Key Requirements:

• Previous experience with plastics injection moulding preferred
• Ability to read technical drawings and adjust machine settings
• Familiarity with tools and equipment such as milling machines
• Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to quality
• Physically capable and comfortable with manual handling tasks
• Effective team player with good communication skills

Hours of Work:

We have opportunities on the following shifts:
Monday to Thursday 9.15pm to 7.00am
18.07p/hr

Monday to Thursday 7.00am - 4.45pm
13.59p/hr
