Assistant Asset Manager


Our client is an ambitious, high-growth property company based in Birmingham. Specialising in property investment, development, and asset management, we are dedicated to creating and managing a diverse portfolio of high-quality assets. We are seeking a dynamic and driven Assistant Asset Manager to join our expanding team and contribute to the continued success of the business.

Role Overview:
As an Assistant Asset Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the asset management team to maximise the value and performance of a diverse property portfolio. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who is looking to develop their career in asset management and be part of a fast-paced, growing organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the Asset Management team in the day-to-day management of a diverse portfolio of commercial and residential assets.
  • Assist with the development and execution of asset strategies to optimise value and performance.
  • Help analyse and monitor financial performance, including rental income, operating costs, and capital expenditure.
  • Prepare financial reports, business plans, and performance summaries for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Assist in the leasing process, including tenant negotiations and lease renewals.
  • Work closely with external property managers, contractors, and service providers to ensure the smooth running of properties.
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support decision-making.
  • Help with the due diligence process for acquisitions and disposals.
  • Support the wider team on ad-hoc projects and initiatives.
Skills & Experience Required:
  • A degree in Real Estate, Property Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Some previous experience within asset management, property management, or a related real estate function is desirable.
  • Strong analytical and financial skills with a good understanding of property valuation, investment performance, and financial modelling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work to deadlines.
  • A proactive and motivated approach to work, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • A strong team player with the ability to work independently when required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, and experience with property management software is an advantage.
