Electrical Design Engineer

GMP Recruitment are proud to be partnered with a highly recognisable and hugely successful Engineering business that has seen substantial growth and development in recent years.

We are currently supporting their recruitment for an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join their team on a full time, permanent basis, to lead various projects and work with Senior Engineers on Turnkey Solutions.

This position is working Monday Friday offering a salary up to GBP50,000 which is pending relevant experience, plus excellent company benefits.

As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with different internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects are completed according to schedule and budget.

To be considered you must have proven experience in Engine Test Cell Engineering or R&D facilities and a degree qualification or equivalent experience in an electrical technical discipline.

We are extremely eager to speak with candidates who have ePlan software experience and familiarity with PLC programming.

Electrical Design Engineer main duties:

• Engineering on turnkey projects, able to adhere to workload schedules with an understanding of cost management.
• Use CALIACH (ERP) to build BOM s & release Work Orders from CAD/ePlan Drawings.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally within the business and with clients.
• Adhere to internal quality and reporting procedures.
• Support other departments, Project Managers, Shop floor, Purchasing etc.
• Creation of design concepts and schematics based on customer RFQ s guided by Senior Engineers/ Management.
• Support with the completion of Technical Files (CE Marking) and Manuals.
• Support Senior Engineers & Managers with timing focusing on delivering commitment

Electrical Design Engineer desired skills and experience:

• Good working knowledge of ePLAN P8, ideally Version 2.9.
• Proven experience in Engine Test Cell Engineering or R&D facilities (3 year minimum).
• Proficiency in ePlan or Autocad CAD Software.
• Degree qualification or equivalent experience in an electrical technical discipline.
• Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving problems.
• A basic understanding of test cell systems, motors, drives, PLC systems and power distribution.
• Organizational skills for keeping track of workload and individual priorities.
• An understanding of value engineering.
• UK or overseas trips to clients
• A basic understanding of BS 13849, 7671 & 60204.
