Deputy Manager – Children's Residential Home (Solo Placement) Widnes, Cheshire Competitive Salary + Sleep-In Payments Full-Time | Permanent We are recruiting on behalf of a valued client for an experienced and passionate Deputy Manager to join a specialist solo placement children's home in Widnes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in providing exceptional care and support to a young person with complex emotional and behavioural needs within a nurturing and therapeutic environment. Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will help lead a dedicated team, ensuring the home delivers outstanding outcomes and maintains the highest standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance. The Role As Deputy Manager, you will: * Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day operation of the home. * Lead, motivate and develop a team of Residential Support Workers to provide outstanding care. * Promote positive outcomes for children and young people, encouraging independence, education and personal development. * Ensure safeguarding and child protection procedures are followed at all times. * Assist with staff supervision, training, rota planning and performance management. * Support the development and implementation of care plans and risk assessments. * Maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations and quality standards. * Build positive relationships with young people, families, local authorities and external professionals. * Act as a role model, creating a warm, stable and supportive home environment. * Participate in the on-call rota and provide leadership when required. About You We're looking for someone who is: ✔ Passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people. ✔ Experienced in residential childcare, ideally within a solo or therapeutic placement setting. ✔ A confident leader with excellent communication and organisational skills. ✔ Resilient, empathetic and able to remain calm under pressure. ✔ Experienced in safeguarding and behaviour management strategies. ✔ Committed to achieving outstanding outcomes for young people. Essential Requirements * Minimum Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent). * Working towards or willing to undertake the Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare. * Previous experience in a Senior Residential Support Worker or Deputy Manager role. * Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and children's home standards. * Full UK driving licence. * Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and participate in an on-call rota.
