Operations Director – West Midlands – Up to £85,000 pa + Benefits – REF 074 £75,000 - £85,000 pa + Benefits Mon – Thurs 7:30am-4pm Fri 7:30am-1pm 37.5 hrs p/w An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Operations Director to join a well-established manufacturing organisation with multiple production facilities and a strong reputation for quality, innovation, and operational excellence. Operating within a complex manufacturing environment, our client supplies a diverse range of engineered products to both domestic and international markets. As part of their ongoing growth and continuous improvement strategy, they are seeking a commercially minded Operations Director to lead and develop all operational functions across the business. Reporting directly to the Managing Director and forming a key part of the Senior Leadership Team, you will be responsible for driving operational performance across manufacturing, supply chain, maintenance, purchasing, logistics, facilities, and health & safety. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering strategic improvements, increasing efficiency, enhancing customer service levels, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organisation. Skills & Experience Needed: • Previous experience operating at Operations Director, Operations Manager, Plant Director, or Head of Operations level • Proven leadership experience within a high-volume manufacturing environment • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Operational Excellence • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams across production, supply chain, maintenance, and logistics • Demonstrable success improving productivity, efficiency, quality, and delivery performance • Strong knowledge of manufacturing systems, inventory control, and operational planning • Experience implementing and developing ERP systems • Financially astute with experience managing budgets, capital expenditure, and cost control initiatives • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and leadership skills • Experience managing large operational teams and driving cultural change • Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean methodologies, or similar continuous improvement frameworks • Engineering or manufacturing background with a strong technical understanding of production processes • Degree qualified or equivalent experience preferred This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking manufacturing business where you will play a key role in shaping operational strategy, leading transformational change, and supporting the continued growth of the organisation.
