Location; South Cerney, Gloucestershire  Are you a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer with conveyor experience looking for a role that offers genuine variety, international travel and the opportunity to lead projects? We are working with a specialist engineering business that designs, installs, maintains and upgrades conveyor and material handling systems for major logistics, parcel handling and industrial customers across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth and an increasing project pipeline, the business is looking to recruit a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. This is a hands-on role combining maintenance, fault finding, installations and site leadership. Unlike many installation-focused positions, this role requires an engineer who is equally comfortable carrying out reactive breakdown support, planned maintenance and troubleshooting complex conveyor systems. You'll be working across a wide range of customer sites throughout the UK and Europe, leading installation projects, supporting automation upgrades and helping customers keep critical operations running. This role would suit an experienced Maintenance Engineer who enjoys travelling, solving problems and taking ownership of projects from start to finish. Responsibilities of a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer: Lead conveyor installation and upgrade projects across customer sites Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive breakdown support Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults on conveyor systems Support commissioning, testing and project handovers Lead and coordinate site teams and subcontractors where required Work with drives, sensors, motors and automation equipment Support conveyor controls integration and system upgrades Work closely with project managers, controls engineers and customers Ensure projects are delivered safely, professionally and to a high standard Support workshop activities and project preparation when not travelling Skills & Qualifications of a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer: Proven conveyor or material handling maintenance experience essential Multi-skilled with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding ability Experience carrying out reactive maintenance and planned preventative maintenance Ability to lead engineers and site activities Experience working on customer sites and within live operational environments PLC fault-finding experience advantageous Knowledge of VFDs, sensors, motor controls and automation systems desirable Strong communication and customer-facing skills Flexible approach to travel and working hours Full UK Driving Licence Benefits of a Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer: Basic salary circa £40,000 (depending on experience) Overtime regularly available Realistic OTE £50,000 - £54,000+ Company vehicle provided All travel, hotel and meal expenses paid Two annual bonus payments (Christmas and financial year-end) Monday to Friday days role Typical working hours 08:00 – 16:00 UK and international travel opportunities Regular work throughout Europe including Scandinavia and France Ongoing training and development Company pension scheme Long-term progression opportunities within a growing engineering business If you feel this Lead Multi-Skilled Engineer role is right for you, please contact Becky Prince at Maintech Recruitment for more information or click apply.
