Job Role: Senior Accommodation Support Officer Location: Lancashire (Working across custodial and community settings) Salary: £26,150 - £32,668 per annum (Dependent on Experience) Contract: Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week, Monday-Friday) Role Overview We are recruiting a confident and experienced Senior Accommodation Support Officer to lead and support a team delivering high-quality housing and resettlement provision across custodial and community settings in Lancashire. As a Senior Accommodation Support Officer, you will provide leadership, coaching, and day-to-day guidance to a team of Accommodation Support Officers, ensuring consistent delivery against contractual targets and service standards. Alongside your leadership responsibilities, you will manage a small caseload of complex participants, providing specialist housing advice and support to enable sustainable accommodation outcomes. This is a key role within the service, requiring strong knowledge of housing legislation, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to drive quality and performance across a busy and dynamic resettlement environment. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Development Staff Guidance: Lead, support, and inspire a team of Accommodation Support Officers across the region. Performance Coaching: Provide regular supervision, coaching, appraisals, and ongoing development support to your team. Culture & Standards: Promote a high-performance, learner-focused team culture that values continuous improvement. Best Practice: Deliver workshops and internal guidance to improve standards of practice, utilizing observations and structured feedback. Service Delivery & Case Management Complex Caseloads: Manage a small, specialized caseload of complex or high-risk participants, delivering expert housing advice and support. Target Achievement: Monitor, manage, and drive team performance to ensure all contractual targets and key performance indicators (KPIs) are met. Stakeholder Liaison: Build and maintain strong working relationships with landlords, housing associations, local authorities, prison staff, and probation services. Legislative Compliance: Ensure all advice and support delivered by the team complies with current housing legislation and homelessness duties. Quality Assurance & Administration Audit & Compliance: Conduct quality audits on case notes, support plans, and risk assessments to ensure regulatory and operational compliance. System Accuracy: Ensure all electronic data and computer-based information systems are maintained accurately and in a timely manner. Risk & Safeguarding: Oversee effective risk management and co-ordination across the team, ensuring a strong focus on safeguarding vulnerable adults. Continuous Improvement: Proactively identify service gaps and contribute to the development of localized housing and resettlement strategies. Essential Criteria Leadership Background: Proven experience leading, supervising, or mentoring staff within a supportive or target-driven environment. Housing Expertise: Strong, demonstrable knowledge of housing legislation, homelessness advice, and local authority housing pathways. Sector Experience: Significant experience working within criminal justice, housing support, or social care settings. Case Management: Confident managing complex, high-needs, or high-risk cases with a structured approach. Communication: Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills. Logistics: Full UK driving licence with access to a vehicle, and flexibility to travel across custodial and community sites in Lancashire. Desirable Criteria Cross-Service Work: Experience working seamlessly across both custodial (prison) and community-based environments. Workshop Delivery: Prior experience planning and delivering housing-related training, workshops, or group interventions. Qualifications: A relevant professional qualification in housing, social care, management, or criminal justice.
