Behaviour Mentor (Full-Time) Langley (SL3) | Primary/Secondary School Setting September Start | Competitive Daily Rate Supply Desk is delighted to be working in partnership with a supportive and inclusive school in the Langley (SL3) area to appoint a dedicated and resilient Behaviour Mentor. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference by supporting pupils with behavioural needs and helping them engage positively with their education. This role would suit a patient, empathetic, and confident individual with a passion for supporting children’s social, emotional, and behavioural development. The Role As a Behaviour Mentor, you will work closely with pupils who require additional behavioural and emotional support, helping them to develop positive attitudes towards learning and improve their engagement both inside and outside the classroom. Key Responsibilities Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with behavioural needs Implement behaviour management strategies in line with the school’s policies Support pupils in developing emotional regulation, resilience, and social skills Work closely with class teachers and SENCO to create and implement support plans De-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively Encourage positive behaviour and promote a safe learning environment Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records of behaviour and interventions Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents Support inclusion and ensure all pupils can access learning Requirements Previous experience working with children or young people with behavioural needs Strong behaviour management skills and a calm, patient approach Ability to build rapport and act as a positive role model Resilient, adaptable, and proactive attitude Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work full-time in the Langley (SL3) area from September Desirable Experience working in a school or alternative provision setting Understanding of SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) needs Team Teach or similar behaviour management training Experience supporting pupils with SEN, including ASD or ADHD Background in youth work, mentoring, or pastoral support Why This Role?
