Commissioning Manager

Details * 📍 Location: Manchester * 📅 Contract: Freelance * ⏳ Start: ASAP 💡About the Role We are currently seeking an experienced Commissioning Manager to join a high-profile data centre project in the Manchester area. This is a 12-month contract opportunity, ideal for a driven professional with a strong background in mission-critical environments. You will play a key role in overseeing the commissioning process from pre-commissioning through to final handover, ensuring systems are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. 🔧 Key Responsibilities * Lead and manage all aspects of the commissioning process across MEP systems * Develop and implement commissioning plans, procedures, and schedules * Coordinate with contractors, consultants, and project stakeholders * Oversee testing, validation, and performance verification of systems * Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and client requirements * Identify and mitigate risks throughout the commissioning lifecycle * Manage commissioning documentation, reporting, and handover packs * Support troubleshooting and resolution of technical issues on-site * Drive health & safety standards across all commissioning activities ✅ Requirements * Minimum 3 years’ experience in the data centre sector * Proven experience working as a Commissioning Manager on large-scale or mission-critical projects * Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and BMS systems within data centres * Demonstrated experience delivering projects through full commissioning lifecycle * Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills * Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
