MOT Technician

Benefits: * Competitive basic salary from £35,000, negotiable based on experience * OTE £40,000+ with average team bonus of £500 per month * Monday to Friday working hours (08:00 – 17:00) * Only six Saturday mornings per year (08:00 – 13:00) * 21 days’ holiday plus bank holidays * Manufacturer-led training within the first 12 months * Opportunities for career development within a well-respected dealer group * Friendly, family-style working environment within a stable business Duties of the MOT Technician: * Conducting routine vehicle servicing, inspections, and checks * Diagnosing vehicle faults using modern diagnostic equipment * Repairing vehicles to manufacturer standards, including electronic and mechanical components * Performing wheel alignments and other specialised tasks * Ensuring high standards of customer service and professionalism in all interactions * Maintaining workshop tools, equipment, and work area to a high standard as a MOT Technician * Completing relevant documentation accurately and efficiently * Supporting the team with additional workshop duties as required Requirements: * Full UK driving licence * Qualifications: NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent); Level 2 with strong experience considered * MOT Licence is essential * Proven experience working in a motor trade environment * Strong diagnostic skills and technical knowledge * Positive attitude, motivation to develop skills, and team-oriented approach * Ability to work flexibly and efficiently within a busy workshop environment This vacancy is based in Southampton, with a preference for MOT Technicians who have substantial motor trade experience.
