Senior Energetics Chemist

We are currently working with a prestigious, government-backed defence organisation in the Presteigne area to recruit a Senior Energetics Chemist. The role: You will be responsible for conducting trials on explosive materials and munitions, as well as engineering tests on numerous innovative projects. We are seeking a curious individual who loves using science and technology to solve complex problems. You will be an exceptional, energetic, hard-working and hands-on enthusiastic chemist joining a small team of explosive engineers. Y You will have a passion for science and technology and will use a combination of innovation, flexibility, and technical excellence to meet and exceed our customers requirements. In this role you will be expected to, but not limited to: * Competently operate laboratory machinery and equipment * The design and manufacture of formulations * Process engineering * Report Writing * Procedure writing * Presentation of data and concepts to clients Essential experience * Minimum of a degree in Chemistry or Materials Science * Preparation of high-quality technical reports for customer projects and delivery of presentations to project stakeholders. * Creation of robust and safe operating procedures and methods and generation of comprehensive risk assessment and COSHH documentation in accordance with ISO9001 and HSE requirements. * Production of energetic formulations using techniques including pressing, casting, resonant acoustic mixing (RAM) and planetary mixing. * Organic synthesis and scale up of target energetic molecules at scales from grams to kilo. * Analysis and testing of energetic materials and formulations. * Operation of process equipment and plant in a safe and methodical system of work
