SEN Teaching Assistant - Leicestershire Schools Start Date: ASAP or September 2026 Location: Leicestershire Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time Opportunities Available Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications SEN Teaching Assistant We are seeking dedicated, compassionate, and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a range of primary and secondary schools across Leicestershire. The Role As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers, SENCOs, and other support staff to provide tailored support for pupils with a variety of additional needs, including: Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) ADHD Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN) Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs Moderate and Severe Learning Difficulties (MLD/SLD) Physical and sensory impairments Responsibilities include: Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND Assisting with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) Supporting pupils' academic, social, and emotional development Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in learning Working collaboratively with teachers and parents/carers Helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment Requirements We welcome applications from candidates who: Have experience working with children or young people with SEND (school-based experience desirable but not essential) Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills Are patient, empathetic, and adaptable Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff Hold relevant qualifications such as Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications (advantageous but not essential) What We Offer Immediate and September start opportunities Flexible full-time and part-time positions Ongoing professional development and training Supportive school environments Competitive rates of pay Opportunities for career progression within education Safeguarding All appointments are subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
