Assistant Contracts Manager

Assistant Contracts Manager – Surfacing We are seeking an experienced Assistant Contracts Manager to join a growing surfacing and highways team. This role would suit someone with a site engineering background who is looking to progress into contract and operational management. Key Responsibilities * Support the delivery of surfacing and highway maintenance contracts * Assist with planning, programming, and coordinating site operations * Manage subcontractors, labour, plant, and material resources * Monitor project costs, progress, quality, and health & safety compliance * Liaise with clients, site teams, and suppliers * Prepare site reports, RAMS, and contract documentation * Ensure works are delivered on time and within budget Requirements * Previous experience in surfacing, asphalt, highways, or civil engineering & construction projects. * Background as a Assistant Site Engineer, Setting out Engineer, or similar * Good understanding of NEC contracts and highway specifications preferred * Strong organisational and communication skills * SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS desirable * Full UK driving licence Ideal Candidate * Hands-on operational experience on live Construction or Civil Engineering projects * Looking to step into a more commercial and managerial role * Able to manage multiple sites and work collaboratively with delivery teams Package * Competitive salary * Company vehicle or allowance * Pension and benefits package * Career progression opportunities within a growing business
