The Role As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving production machinery within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, with a hands-on element of mechanical fitting and installation work. Key duties include: * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) * Diagnosing faults and responding to breakdowns efficiently * Performing mechanical fitting, installation, and modification work on equipment * Aligning, assembling, and replacing mechanical components * Minimising downtime and supporting production targets * Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives * Working closely with engineering and production teams * Ensuring compliance with health & safety and food safety standards Requirements * Proven experience in a mechanical maintenance and/or fitting role within manufacturing (food industry experience is advantageous) * Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills * Practical experience with mechanical fitting, installation, and assembly * Knowledge of conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics * A proactive and team-focused approach * Relevant engineering qualification (apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) What’s on Offer * Opportunity to join a well-established and growing food manufacturer * Supportive and positive working environment * Competitive salary and benefits package * Ongoing training and career development opportunities Apply If you are a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with fitting experience looking for a new opportunity within a reputable and progressive business, we encourage you to apply today or contact our recruitment team for a confidential discussion
