Controls Engineer

Controls and Automation Engineer Controls Engineer / Automation Engineer Global Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced Controls Engineer to join their Production Engineering team. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in developing and optimising advanced automation solutions within a modern manufacturing environment. You’ll work across control systems, SCADA/HMI platforms, and continuous improvement projects that drive operational performance. Key Responsibilities * Design, develop, programme, and enhance control systems for both new and existing production equipment * Configure and maintain SCADA and HMI systems to improve machine efficiency and reliability * Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues while supporting manufacturing operations * Collaborate with engineering and production teams across multiple sites on equipment upgrades and process improvement initiatives * Contribute to the delivery of automation and smart manufacturing projects Candidate Requirements * Degree qualified (BEng Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or related discipline) * Proven experience with PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems (Mitsubishi experience preferred) * Knowledge of VFD/VSD drives, EtherNet/IP, Modbus, and CC-Link protocols * Previous experience working within a live manufacturing or production environment * Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills Desirable: * 5+ years’ experience within a Controls Engineering role What’s On Offer * Competitive salary – up to £60,000 * Opportunity to work on innovative automation and manufacturing technologies * Collaborative and supportive engineering environment * Ongoing career development and progression opportunities across multiple sites.
