Freelance Quantity Surveyor Role: Freelance Quantity Surveyor Client Type: Main Contractor Contract Length: 2 Years (potential for extension) Rate: £375 per day (Ltd / Outside IR35) Location: London (zone 2) Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity A well-established main contractor is seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team on a 2-year contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of construction projects, with a competitive day rate on offer for the right candidate. Key Responsibilities * Manage the full commercial lifecycle of projects from pre-contract through to final account * Prepare and submit interim valuations, variations and change management * Procure and manage subcontractor packages including letting, instructing and account settlement * Preparation of cost reports, forecasting and cash flow management * Negotiate and agree final accounts with subcontractors and employers * Liaise with the project team including site managers, project managers and design teams * Ensure contractual compliance and manage risk throughout the project lifecycle Requirements * Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contracting environment * Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract (JCT, NEC) * Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline * MRICS or working towards chartership (desirable) * Excellent communication and negotiation skills * Ability to work independently and manage your own workload * Must be able to work via a limited company (Ltd) – outside IR35 What's on Offer * £375 per day – Ltd / Outside IR35 * 2-year contract with potential for extension * Opportunity to work with an established and respected main contractor * Dynamic and supportive working environment
