Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) Bolton £40,000 – £50,000 DOE Shift Pattern: 6am–2pm / 2pm–10pm Rotating Full-time, Permanent The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) to join a busy plant/manufacturing environment in Bolton. The Role As a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for maintaining and improving plant and production machinery across site, ensuring downtime is minimised and equipment performance is maximised. This is a hands-on role requiring strong electrical fault-finding skills, the ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, and confidence responding to breakdowns in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities - Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer * Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across plant and production equipment * Attend electrical and mechanical breakdowns quickly and efficiently * Fault finding on motors, drives, sensors, relays, and control systems * Read and interpret electrical and mechanical engineering drawings/schematics * Work on conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and automated machinery * Support continuous improvement and reliability projects * Assist with machinery upgrades, installations, and modifications * Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records * Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company procedures What We’re Looking For * Experienced multi-skilled maintenance engineer with an electrical bias * Happy working within a plant/manufacturing environment * Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and schematics * Strong breakdown and fault-finding experience * NVQ Level 3 / HNC or equivalent in Electrical Engineering * Previous experience within manufacturing, FMCG, industrial, or plant environments * Basic PLC fault-finding experience advantageous * Proactive, hands-on attitude * Able to work both independently and as part of a team What’s on Offer * Salary between £40,000 – £50,000 DOE * Monday–Friday rotating shifts (no weekends) * Overtime opportunities available * Stable, long-term opportunity * Supportive engineering team and working environment * Career progression opportunities Apply now if you’re a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking for your next challenge within a busy plant environment in Bolton
