Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

We’re hiring for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a precision engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-quality gears and machine components in Stockport. What’s on offer? * £45,000 p/a * Mon – Fri | 7am – 4pm * Early finish on Fridays * Overtime available (paid at enhanced rate) * 5% pension plan * 25 days holiday & banks * Cycle to work scheme * Onsite parking * Stable, long term opportunity within a respected engineering business What will you be doing as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer? * Responding quickly to machine breakdowns across the production facility * Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks * Fault-finding on mechanical and basic electrical systems * Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime * Completing maintenance paperwork and PPM sheets * Identifying recurring faults and implementing corrective actions * Supporting continuous improvement and 5S activities * Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop What will you need? * NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering * Time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer background * Previous manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience * Strong mechanical fault-finding skills * Basic electrical maintenance knowledge * A proactive and self-motivated approach Interested?
