An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Advanced Manufacturing Engineer to join a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment supporting a critical type approval and conformity of production (CoP / COC2) programme. This role is focused on establishing the manufacturing process controls, documentation, and compliance standards required to support an upcoming vehicle launch and achieve second-stage type approval. This is a highly visible assignment requiring someone who can quickly embed themselves into the operation and deliver high-quality manufacturing documentation at pace. The successful candidate will play a key role in defining manufacturing processes, producing control plans and work instructions, and ensuring the business is audit-ready for compliance reviews and ongoing production activity. Key Responsibilities of the Advanced Manufacturing Engineer: Develop and implement manufacturing process controls to support Conformity of Production (CoP) and type approval requirements Produce detailed work instructions, control plans, process flows, and manufacturing documentation Define and standardise manufacturing and assembly processes across production operations Support compliance activities relating to COC2 / second-stage type approval Work closely with production, quality, and engineering teams to identify process gaps and implement corrective actions Ensure manufacturing documentation aligns with automotive industry standards and audit expectations Support safety-critical and quality-critical process checks throughout the build process Assist with launch readiness activities for upcoming vehicle programmes Review and improve existing manufacturing procedures to increase robustness and repeatability Support external reviews and compliance assessments where required The Advanced Manufacturing Engineer We’re Looking For: Proven experience as a Manufacturing Engineer, Process Engineer, or AME Engineer within the automotive sector Strong experience creating manufacturing documentation, including: Work Instructions Control Plans Process Flows SOPs Process Controls Previous exposure to automotive type approval, Conformity of Production (CoP), APQP, or regulated manufacturing environments Strong understanding of manufacturing compliance and safety/critical process control Excellent computer literacy and confidence in producing technical documentation quickly and accurately Ability to work autonomously in a fast-moving environment with tight deadlines Strong stakeholder communication and organisational skills Experience supporting vehicle launch or prototype build programmes would be highly advantageous Why Join?
