Senior Scientist - Compound Screening

Talentmark are recruiting for a Senior Scientist, Compound Screening to join a clinical stage oncology biotechnology company at their site based in West London on a permanent basis. The Company: Our client is developing novel tumour microenvironment targeted therapeutics. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to bringing novel cancer treatments to patients. Location: This Senior Scientist, Compound Screening role is located in West London. Senior Scientist, Compound Screening Role: You will help to drive early stage discovery programs and will assume responsibility and be accountable for the efficient and timely delivery of cell-based screening data to support drug discovery programs for oncology therapeutics.   This is a lab-based role with management of junior team member(s). Your main duties will be to: Weekly, high throughput plate-based assays to screen compounds in cell-based assays to support candidate selection Data analysis and data quality control: analyse, interpret and save data to databases and electronic lab notebooks; adherence to standard operating procedures Effectively present results and conclusions at project meetings to colleagues and senior management Work in a fast-paced, team environment with tight deadlines Work effectively in a small team with cross-functional team members Ensure compliance with laboratory safety guidelines and quality standardsYour Background: Essential: BSc, MSc or PhD in a life sciences subject with additional biotech or pharmaceutical laboratory experience post qualification Industry drug discovery experience Experienced in high throughput plate-based assays to screen compounds in cell-based assays Data analysis and data quality control Protocol optimisation and troubleshooting Strong attention to detail, organisation and ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environmentDesirable: Line management experience Experience in cell-based models and co-culture assays Cell biology and other basic molecular techniques eg, western blotting, ELISA, cytometry etcApply: It is essential that applicants hold entitlement to work in the UK.
