Mechanical Fitter – Day Shift (Basildon) Join a large industrial client in Basildon as a skilled and reliable Mechanical Fitter on a role with excellent career progression opportunities—with the potential to move into a permanent position after the probation period. Working Hours: • Monday to Thursday: 06:45 – 15:45 • Friday: 06:45 – 11:45 • Total: 39 paid hours per week Pay & Benefits: • Starting salary: £13.00 per hour • Salary review after 3 months, with potential increase based on performance • Overtime available, including Saturdays and Sundays paid at time and a half • Early Friday finish for better work-life balance • Opportunity to work within a supportive and skilled team • Full training provided Key Responsibilities: • Assembly, installation, and maintenance of mechanical components and equipment • Mechanical assembly using power tools based on customer requirements • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings and technical specifications • Carrying out routine inspections and fault finding • Ensuring all work is completed to high quality and safety standards • Working collaboratively with the wider engineering team Requirements: • Must be able to use power tools • Physically fit and able to carry out hands-on, physically demanding work • Good English communication skills, including reading and understanding instructions • Reliable with a strong work ethic • Willingness to learn and develop new skills If you are motivated and looking for a stable, rewarding role with a large industrial client in Basildon, offering great progression, training, and overtime opportunities, we would love to hear from you
