Quality Control Engineer Leeds, West Yorkshire 37.5 hours per week | Monday to Friday | 6-2 / 2-10 Shift Pattern A market leading manufacturer in Leeds is looking to appoint a Quality Control Engineer to join its Assembly Inspection team. This role plays a key part in ensuring every product leaving site meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and customer expectations. As a Quality Control Engineer you’ll be responsible for identifying issues on the final product and ensuring exceptional standards of workmanship. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with production and engineering teams to solve problems, improve processes, and help prevent repeat issues. This position would suit a Quality Engineer or Quality Control Engineer who enjoys being close to the manufacturing process and wants to make a visible impact on product quality. What this role offers: * Join a respected engineering manufacturer with a strong reputation in its sector * Work within an established quality team with strong technical expertise * Play a key role in final inspection and customer satisfaction * Bonus scheme * Competitive pension scheme * Long-term career development opportunities * Great benefits Key responsibilities: * Carry out final inspections and be customer facing during product buy-offs * Identify defects, non-conformances, and quality concerns during assembly inspection * Lead root cause investigations using 8D, 5 Why, and RCA methodologies * Work closely with production, engineering, and operational teams to resolve issues * Drive continuous improvement across products and manufacturing processes * Support process control activities and improve product reliability * Investigate issues across machining, fabrication, welding, casting, or heat treatment processes * Produce clear reports and communicate findings across the business * Support internal audits and quality compliance activities What they’re looking for: * Previous experience in a Quality Engineer, Quality Control Engineer, or similar role * Strong mechanical engineering knowledge * Experience within complex manufacturing or design-to-order environments * Knowledge of quality tools such as PPAP, FMEA, SPC, Lean, and DMAIC * Strong root cause analysis and problem-solving skills * Ability to interpret engineering drawings * Knowledge of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards * Apprentice trained, HND or degree level in Mechanical Engineering or a similar engineering qualification * CQI or IRCA qualifications would be beneficial If you’re a Quality Control Engineer looking for a role where you can make a genuine impact on product quality while working in a highly technical manufacturing environment, please apply
