Frontend Developer (Next.js) – Contract Location: London (Oxford Street) – Hybrid (4 days onsite) Duration: 6 months Rate: £420/day (Inside IR35) About the Role We are looking for an experienced Frontend Developer with strong Next.js expertise to join a fast-paced retail programme. You will be responsible for building high-quality, scalable, and performant user interfaces for a modern e-commerce platform, working closely with designers, backend engineers, and product teams. Key Responsibilities * Develop and maintain responsive, high-performance frontend applications using Next.js, React, and TypeScript * Translate UI/UX designs into clean, maintainable, and efficient code * Collaborate with backend developers to integrate RESTful APIs and external services * Ensure cross-browser compatibility and optimise applications for mobile and desktop * Participate in design discussions and contribute to high-level architecture decisions * Write well-tested, documented, and reusable code * Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices * Work closely with cross-functional teams including design, product, and QA * Support delivery through active participation in agile ceremonies and technical discussions Required Skills and Experience * 8–12 years of frontend development experience * Strong hands-on experience with Next.js * Deep expertise in React, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS * Experience integrating APIs and working with backend services * Strong understanding of performance optimisation and responsive design * Experience working in agile, cross-functional teams * Excellent communication and collaboration skills Desirable Skills * Experience with CMS platforms such as Storyblok * Familiarity with Node.js * Experience in e-commerce or retail environments * Knowledge of modern CSS frameworks such as Tailwind Why Join * Work on a high-impact retail platform with a modern tech stack * Collaborate with experienced engineers and cross-functional teams * Opportunity to contribute to scalable, user-centric digital experiences
