Construction Buyer

Fawkes & Reece are currently working with a Tier 1 construction client who is looking to recruit a permanent Buyer to join their team based near Cookstown, Northern Ireland. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established contractor delivering high-quality projects across multiple sectors. About the Company Our client specialises in the construction of student accommodation, retirement living developments, and hotels. A significant proportion of their projects involve reinforced concrete (RC) frameworks, offering exposure to technically complex and large-scale builds. Key Responsibilities * Managing procurement of materials and plant for construction projects * Sourcing and negotiating with suppliers to achieve best value * Building and maintaining strong supplier relationships * Ensuring timely delivery of materials to meet project deadlines * Monitoring costs and supporting budget control * Working closely with project teams to understand procurement needs * Maintaining accurate purchasing records and documentation Requirements * Previous experience in a Buyer or procurement role within construction * Knowledge of RC frameworks (desirable but not essential) * Strong negotiation and communication skills * Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines * Good commercial awareness and attention to detail What’s on Offer * Competitive salary of £30,000 – £35,000 * Opportunity to work with a leading Tier 1 contractor * Exposure to high-profile and diverse construction projects * Supportive and collaborative working environment * Long-term career progression opportunities If you are interested in this opportunity, please apply with your up to date CV, to Hazel Baron, though the website
