Electrical Design Engineer

Electrical Design Engineer Location: Swavesey, Cambridge (Onsite) Salary: £50,000 Type: Full-time, Permanent My client, a leading manufacturer in industrial printing technology, is looking for an Electrical Design Engineer to support the development of advanced, high-performance systems. This role focuses on designing, testing, and implementing electrical components within complex industrial machinery. Key Responsibilities * Design electrical systems including control panels, power distribution, and communication interfaces * Produce schematics and wiring diagrams using CAD software * Select and specify electrical components (sensors, relays, power supplies, etc.) * Support system integration, testing, and troubleshooting * Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards (CE, UL, IEC) * Collaborate with mechanical, software, and production teams * Support production builds and continuous product improvement Requirements * Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline * 5+ years’ experience in electrical design * Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g. AutoCAD) * Strong knowledge of power systems, motor control, and PLC integration * Understanding of industrial communication protocols * Experience working to relevant safety and quality standards * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage multiple projects What’s on Offer * £50k salary * Onsite role in Cambridge * Opportunity to work on cutting-edge industrial technology * Strong benefits package including enhanced pension, healthcare options, and training * Collaborative and innovation-driven environment
