Electrical Bias CNC Field Service Engineer Nottinghamshire with UK Travel & Occasional European Travel Permanent £40,000 per annum We are currently seeking an experienced Electrical Bias CNC Field Service Engineer for our client. This role involves supporting and maintaining advanced CNC-based industrial machinery used within high-precision manufacturing environments. The position is heavily focused on field-based breakdown response, diagnostics, and fault finding, with additional responsibilities including installation, servicing, and customer support where required. The successful candidate will be confident working on complex electro-mechanical systems in a fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on electrical diagnostics and first-time fixes. Key Responsibilities * Attend customer sites to install, commission, service, and repair CNC industrial machinery. * Respond to breakdowns and carry out detailed fault finding using electrical schematics and system drawings. * Diagnose and resolve complex electrical and control system faults using a first principles approach. * Support machine performance through preventative and reactive maintenance activities. * Provide on-site technical support and basic operator training where required. * Promote spare parts and service solutions during customer visits, clearly explaining technical requirements. * Recommend service agreements and communicate opportunities back to the office team. * Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high-quality standards. * Maintain accurate service records and reports following site visits. * Support wider UK service coverage, with occasional travel across Ireland and mainland Europe. Skills and Experience * HND or equivalent in Electrical Engineering (mechanical understanding also required). * Minimum 3 years’ experience in a field service or industrial CNC machinery environment. * Strong electrical bias with solid mechanical awareness. * Ability to diagnose faults on complex electro-mechanical systems. * Confident reading and interpreting electrical schematics and technical drawings. * Strong understanding of industrial control systems and field service diagnostics. * Proactive, self-motivated approach with strong problem-solving ability. * Excellent communication and customer-facing skills. * Highly organised with strong attention to detail. * Willingness to travel extensively, including overnight stays. * Full, clean UK driving licence.
