Quantity Surveyor

We are working alongside a long standing client who are a market-leading main contractor based in Oxfordshire and are seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Special Works Division, delivering a diverse portfolio of projects valued up to £4m. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a highly established and reputable business, known for delivering high-quality construction projects. Working within a dynamic and supportive team, you will gain exposure to a wide range of refurbishment and new build projects. The Role As Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in managing projects from pre-construction through to final account, across a varied mix of works including: * Heritage refurbishment projects across universities and colleges * New build projects * Minor works and specialist refurbishment schemes * Projects ranging up to £4m in value You will play a key role in ensuring commercial success, working closely with project managers, site teams, and clients. Key Responsibilities * Managing project costs from inception to completion * Procurement of subcontractors and suppliers * Contract administration and risk management * Preparing valuations, variations, and final accounts * Cost reporting and forecasting * Supporting project delivery teams to ensure commercial performance * Building and maintaining strong client and subcontractor relationships Requirements * Experience working as a Quantity Surveyor within a main contractor environment * Experience delivering refurbishment and/or new build projects * Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills * Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously * Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills * Relevant construction qualification (HNC/HND/Degree) preferred What’s on Offer * Opportunity to join a market-leading, established contractor * Varied and interesting project portfolio * Supportive and collaborative team environment * Clear career progression opportunities * Competitive salary and benefits package This is a fantastic opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor looking to develop their career within a respected contractor, working on meaningful projects across Oxfordshire’s education and heritage sectors.
