Planning Engineer (Technical Planner) Location: Bridgwater (Hybrid) Engagement: Contract Rate: £450 - £500 p/d (Inside IR35) The Opportunity We’re supporting a major UK infrastructure programme and are looking for a Planning Engineer (Technical Planner) to join a high-performing central planning team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys the technical and systems side of planning, ensuring schedules, tools, and processes are robust, consistent, and fit for a complex, multi-contractor environment. What You’ll Be Doing: * Support month-end cycles and baseline updates * Maintain and improve planning standards, processes, and procedures * Monitor and support the Primavera P6 environment * Perform data housekeeping to ensure schedule quality * Provide first-line support to planners on systems/process issues * Manage user access and configuration * Carry out quality checks and compliance reviews * Support schedule change control and documentation * Assist with reporting outputs (e.g. XER files, project extracts) * Contribute to training and onboarding of planners * Help drive continuous improvement across planning systems What We’re Looking For: * Strong experience with Primavera P6 (EPPM / Professional) * Background in planning systems / project controls * Understanding of planning principles and reporting cycles * Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills * Confident communicator across teams and stakeholders * Ability to manage multiple deadlines and cyclical processes * Experience with Excel, SharePoint, and project controls tools Desirable: * Experience with schedule assurance tools (e.g. Acumen Fuse) * Major infrastructure or multi-contractor project experience * Exposure to Oracle / enterprise systems * Understanding of integrated schedules and reporting structures Why Apply? * Work on a large-scale, complex infrastructure programme * Be part of a central planning function shaping best practice * Opportunity to influence systems, standards, and data quality * Collaborative, forward-thinking project environment Apply Now If you’re a Planning Engineer with strong P6 expertise looking to move into a more technical, systems-focused role, we’d love to hear from you.
