NPD Technologist

Job Description: About the Role We are currently recruiting for an ambitious and passionate NPD Technologist to join a fast-paced and innovative food manufacturing business. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in developing new products from concept through to launch, working with major customers in a highly dynamic environment. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Technical, Production, Procurement, and Sales teams to deliver high-quality, commercially viable products aligned with market trends and customer expectations. Key Responsibilities * Manage and deliver NPD projects from concept through to launch * Develop and refine recipes, flavour profiles, and product concepts * Research food trends, ingredients, and packaging innovations * Prepare and present products for internal and customer approval * Source and approve raw materials in collaboration with suppliers * Coordinate factory trials and support product launches * Ensure compliance with labelling, nutritional, and customer specifications * Conduct benchmarking, sensory evaluation, and product optimisation * Maintain accurate documentation throughout the NPD process About You * 2–3 years’ experience in food product development (ideally chilled) * Strong passion for food, innovation, and consumer trends * Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects * High attention to detail and problem-solving ability * Confident communicator across teams, suppliers, and customers * Able to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced environment Desirable: * Degree in Food Science, Nutrition, or related discipline * Culinary background or hands-on food experience What’s on Offer * Opportunity to work on exciting product launches * Collaborative and supportive team environment * Career progression within a growing food business * Exposure to major retail and foodservice customers
