CAD Technician

Edge Careers are working on behalf of a key client that's looking to add a 'CAD Technician' to their engineering and technical team. This is a Groundworks Contractor that predominantly operates within the Residential Sector. They specialise in Roads, Sewers, Infrastructure, Bulk Earthworks and Housing Plot Groundworks. This a great opportunity to join an established, growing business that offers an attractive package and working alongside a very experienced technical team. I'm looking to speak with candidates that already are working as a CAD Technician within the construction/civils/groundworks sector. Or anyone that has a background as Land Surveyor or Junior Site/Civil Engineer who enjoys the technical aspects of their work and would be open to a career change moving into a more office based position. Salary is negotiable depending on experience and any additional training/development will be provided by my client. Duties: - Create, modify, and update 2D and 3D CAD drawings, use of AutoCAD, 3D Civils, Agtek software. - Develop site layouts, road alignments, drainage systems, and earthworks designs. - Look at pre-start drawings and Interpret technical specifications, engineering sketches, and survey data to create detailed drawings. - Provide cut and fill analysis - Assist engineers in preparing construction and planning documents. - Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company design guidelines. - Operating drone for surveying and mapping (license/training will be provided if you don’t have a license) Key Attributes: - You must be proficient in AutoCAD and have worked in the Construction Environment - Inquisitive and technically minded, enabling you to complete your workload to the highest standard and to seek the answers that others may not find - Working to specific deadlines - Good communication skills, confident with speaking to existent clients and prospective new ones to understand and deliver their requirements - It would be beneficial to have an understanding of Civil Engineering and Earthworks - Any site based experience working within the Groundworks Engineering department would again be beneficial. - It would be beneficial/advantageous for this role if you have experience using Modelling Software - such Civils 3D, LSS, Agtek, Trimble Business Centre, N4CE.
