QC Shift Chemist Location: Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent Hours: 4-shift rotating system (including weekends) * 10:00–18:00 * 06:00–14:00 * 14:00–22:00 * 22:00–06:00 About the Role We are seeking a highly motivated QC Shift Chemist to join our Quality Control team at our manufacturing facility in Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent. This is a hands-on laboratory and production-support role, ensuring that all manufactured products meet the highest quality standards before reaching our customers. You will work closely with Production, R&D, and Quality teams, playing a key role in maintaining product integrity, improving manufacturing efficiency, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Quality Control & Laboratory Analysis * Perform laboratory testing on raw materials, in-process samples, finished goods, bulk products, filling lines, and flushing samples * Conduct a full range of analytical test methods in accordance with established procedures * Ensure accurate documentation and reporting of all results within the LIMS system Production Support * Provide guidance on formulation adjustments for non-conforming products * Recommend corrective actions to improve first-time pass rates * Advise on line flushing requirements, including quantities for vessels, filling lines, and bulk systems * Support production troubleshooting and issue resolution in real time Rework & Material Management * Assess and test off-spec products to determine suitability for rework or re-blending * Control and verify bulk raw material intake and quality compliance Systems & Process Control * Operate and maintain LIMS (Laboratory Information Management System) * Work with Siemens PCS7 manufacturing control systems * Ensure compliance with 5S, Kaizen, and Just-In-Time (JIT) manufacturing principles Cross-Functional Support * Provide laboratory support to Production and R&D departments when required * Develop a strong working knowledge of all laboratory functions including Quality Control, Customer Services, and Research & Development * Act as a key team member contributing to continuous improvement initiatives About You We are looking for a proactive and detail-focused individual who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
