Your new company An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Bookkeeper / Finance Assistant to join a well-established property development and asset management business based in Preston. Your new role Due to continued expansion, the business is recruiting two Accounts Assistants / Bookkeepers on a permanent basis. You will support the day‑to‑day finance function, working across transactional accounting and bookkeeping duties while supporting senior finance colleagues as required. Key Responsibilities: Managing purchase and sales ledgers Processing invoices, expenses, and payments Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records Assisting with month‑end preparation and reporting Supporting the preparation of VAT returns Working with external accountants where required Providing financial admin support to project teams What you'll need to succeed Previous experience as an Accounts Assistant, Bookkeeper, or similar finance role Experience gained within an accountancy practice is desirable Experience with purchase ledger, sales ledger, and bank reconciliations Confidence processing invoices, payments, and maintaining accurate records Experience using accounting software (e.g., Zero, Sage, QuickBooks) is beneficial Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work well within a small, collaborative team What you'll get in return Competitive salary of £30,000-£35,000 depending on experience Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:30pm.
