Payroll Team Lead Location: Chard Salary: £40,000 Working pattern: Full time or part time considered Working style: Office based initially with hybrid working available after 6 months We are currently working with a well-established organisation who are looking to appoint an experienced Payroll Team Lead to join their payroll function. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to combine hands on payroll with people management and future project exposure. This role will be ideal for someone who has a solid understanding of end to end payroll process and has previous line management experience. This experience could be within payroll or a generalised finance environment. You will have great soft skills and the capability to develop and motivate a team. The role Reporting into the Payroll Manager, you will manage a payroll team of around 10 payroll professionals alongside another Team Lead. Responsibilities include: * Supporting, coaching and developing team members * Ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing * Acting as a point of escalation for payroll queries * Working closely with the wider payroll leadership team * Gaining exposure to payroll projects over the next 12 months, including process and systems improvements * Supporting continuous improvement across the payroll function About you * Strong end to end payroll knowledge * Proven line management or team leadership experience, within payroll, finance, HR or a general office environment * Confident supporting and motivating a payroll team in a busy environment * Comfortable working with change and improvement initiatives * Project experience desirable but not essential What's on offer * Salary of £40,000 FTE * Part time or full time options considered * Hybrid working after 6 months * Exposure to payroll projects and process improvement work * Study support for relevant payroll qualifications If this sounds like the role for you, please apply online ASAP.
