Job Title: Project Manager – GIS Substation Location: Wales (site-based with some flexibility) Type: Full-time | Contract or Permanent The Role We’re looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a Gas Insulated Substation (GIS) project in Wales. This is a key role overseeing the full project lifecycle, from planning and design coordination through to construction, commissioning, and handover. You’ll be responsible for keeping the project on track across programme, budget, and quality, while managing multiple stakeholders in a complex, high-value infrastructure environment. What You’ll Be Doing * Leading end-to-end delivery of a GIS substation project * Managing programme timelines, budgets, and risk * Coordinating with design teams, contractors, and client stakeholders * Overseeing site activities, ensuring work is delivered safely and to spec * Driving progress and resolving issues quickly to avoid delays * Reporting on project status, milestones, and performance * Ensuring compliance with UK regulations and industry standards What We’re Looking For * Proven experience managing substation projects (GIS preferred) * NEC4 experience * Strong understanding of high-voltage transmission infrastructure * Experience working in the UK utilities or energy sector * Confident stakeholder manager—able to work across contractors, clients, and internal teams * Solid track record of delivering projects on time and within budget * Knowledge of HSE standards and commitment to safe delivery Desirable * Experience with National Grid or similar frameworks * Relevant qualifications (e.g. PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) * Engineering background (electrical preferred) Why This Role * High-impact infrastructure project * Long-term pipeline of work in the energy sector * Opportunity to lead a technically complex build with real visibility
