Location: Iceland Start Date: ASAP Rotation: Rotation available (to be discussed) Salary: will be discussed directly Overview Copius Group is recruiting an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join a major hyperscale data centre project in Iceland. This is a fast-paced, technically demanding environment where precision and accuracy are critical to successful project delivery. The successful candidate will be responsible for all setting out activities on-site, ensuring that works are delivered in line with design specifications, tolerances, and programme requirements. Key Responsibilities * Carry out all setting out duties for civil, structural, and associated works * Establish and maintain site control points and benchmarks * Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and digital models * Ensure all setting out is completed accurately and in line with project tolerances * Liaise with site management, subcontractors, and design teams to coordinate works * Provide technical guidance to site teams regarding levels, alignment, and positioning * Conduct regular checks and validations to ensure accuracy of works * Maintain detailed and accurate survey records and as-built data * Support QA/QC processes, including inspections and documentation * Identify and report discrepancies between design and site conditions * Assist in resolving technical issues and responding to RFIs * Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with HSE requirements * Support handover documentation, including as-built drawings and records Essential requirements * Proven experience as a Setting Out Engineer on large-scale construction or civil engineering projects * Proficiency with surveying equipment (e.g. total stations, GPS, laser levels) * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications * Strong understanding of site control, levelling, and dimensional accuracy * Experience working in fast-track construction environments * Good knowledge of QA/QC procedures and documentation * Fluent English (written and spoken) Desirable * Experience on data centre or mission-critical projects * Engineering or surveying qualification * Experience working in Nordic or remote locations * Familiarity with digital surveying tools and BIM models * Experience producing as-built drawings and records What’s on Offer * Long-term opportunity on a high-profile data centre project * Competitive day rate / package * Structured rotation (where applicable) * Opportunity to work on a technically complex, large-scale development * Collaborative international project environment How to Apply If you are interested in this opportunity, please submit your updated cv to Sarah Carlile
